Yankees Express Interest in Padres Reliever Jeremiah Estrada

The New York Yankees have reportedly considered acquiring Jeremiah Estrada, a reliever for the San Diego Padres, as they look to bolster their roster during the upcoming offseason. According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Yankees have had their eye on Estrada for a while.

Estrada, 27, had a challenging 2026 season, appearing in only 33 games due to various injuries, including elbow tendinitis and knee inflammation. Despite these setbacks, he finished the season with a solid ERA of 3.48 over 31 innings, recording 38 strikeouts. With the Yankees potentially losing several right-handed relievers to free agency this offseason, exploring a trade for Estrada could be a sensible move. As he will not reach free agency for a few more seasons, his value might be higher, especially for a team like the Yankees that possesses valuable prospects to offer in return. Observers anticipate further developments regarding Estrada as the offseason unfolds.
