Lines wrap around Apple flagship store on Fifth Avenue for new iPhone Duo release

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) — Enthusiasm for the launch of Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo has resulted in extensive lines outside Apple stores across New York City. On Friday morning, customers began lining up in large numbers at the iconic Fifth Avenue flagship store, eager to purchase Apple’s first foldable smartphone.

Reports indicate that individuals began arriving as early as 4 p.m. on Thursday to secure their place in line at the SoHo location. Apple touts the iPhone Duo as featuring a revolutionary foldable design, boasting the largest display ever on an iPhone while also being the thinnest model yet. The device opens to reveal a 7.6-inch display, which is 80% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro, and introduces the ability to use an Apple Pencil, a feature previously limited to iPad users. The iPhone Duo supports multitasking, allowing users to split the screen for different applications or two views of the same website. Price points for the device range from $1,900 to $3,000, depending on the chosen storage capacity.
