Monica McNutt Dismisses Taylor Swift’s Criticism as ‘Not Deep’

Monica McNutt found herself at the center of controversy during the NBA Finals in June after questioning Taylor Swift’s allegiance to the Knicks while on a hot mic. Now, months later, she shared her thoughts with Ryan Clark on ‘The Pivot,’ clarifying that her remarks were a casual observation that was misunderstood. McNutt emphasized that she was unfazed by the backlash because, in her view, ‘the internet is not real.’

During the NBA Finals, as Swift was seen in the crowd at Madison Square Garden, McNutt remarked, ‘Is that Taylor Swift down there? She’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl.’ Following the incident, McNutt expressed that she did not intend her statement to be taken literally. She appreciated Jalen Brunson’s defense during a postgame interview, acknowledging him as a thoughtful supporter.
