As the Midterm elections on November 3 approach, Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islander adults are increasingly disillusioned with President Trump and the Republican Party, according to a new AP-NORC/AAPI Data poll. The survey, conducted from September 8-15, reveals significant shifts in approval ratings, with only about one-quarter of AAPI adults approving of Trump’s overall performance and even fewer—around 20%—supporting his handling of the economy, a crucial issue for voters.
Despite a general preference for Democratic policies over Republican ones, AAPI adults remain ambivalent about the Democratic Party itself, with nearly half expressing unfavorable views. Concerns about election integrity, misinformation, and potential voter suppression are also prevalent among AAPI adults as they look toward the upcoming elections.
