Will Campbell’s PFF Performance Assessment After Injury Return vs. Jets

During his inaugural season, New England Patriots left tackle Will Campbell experienced a knee injury that hindered his ability to perform effectively. Concerns lingered as he prepared for the game against the New York Jets following a recent injury sustained against the Las Vegas Raiders. Although initially it seemed he would need several weeks to rehabilitate, Campbell made a swift return to the field.

According to PFF, Campbell excelled in his performance during the Patriots’ victory. He faced 35 pass rush snaps and managed to avoid allowing any sacks or hurries, conceding only one hit and one quarterback pressure, achieving a pass block efficiency of 98.6. His performance significantly contributed to the team’s offensive efforts, where quarterback Drake Maye amassed 235 passing yards and three touchdowns, leading to a total score of 26 points.

Following the game, Campbell expressed satisfaction with his recovery progress and indicated he did not face any setbacks during the match. He anticipates being ready for the upcoming game on Thursday night, which is crucial as the team deals with multiple injuries along the offensive line, including new injuries to Morgan Moses, Alijah Vera-Tucker, and Ben Brown.

Additionally, rookie Caleb Lomu again stepped into a significant role due to injury, filling in as right tackle for Moses. Having impressed with a previous performance, Lomu’s effort against the Jets earned him a perfect pass block efficiency rating of 100.0, as he did not allow any pressures or hits on the quarterback.
