Family Farmstead Dairy is recalling its Raw Mild Cheddar Cheese because of a potential contamination with E. coli. The dairy, located in upstate New York, reported that a sample of the cheese was found to contain two different strains of E. coli.

The FDA announced that the recalled cheese has been distributed to grocery stores across seven states, including Virginia, but it cautioned that it may have also been sent to additional states through outside distributors. As of now, there have been no reported cases of illness linked to the product. Customers with inquiries can reach Family Farmstead Dairy at 607-397-4044 or via email at customerservice@familyfarmsteaddairy.com. The company expressed regret over the recall and emphasized their commitment to product safety and quality.
