Manhattan Capital One Bank Branch Targeted With Anti-Israel Graffiti, Windows Smashed

On Monday, a Capital One Bank branch in Manhattan was vandalized with graffiti referring to an Israeli defense contractor and a designated terrorist group, alongside broken windows. The messages ‘Drop Elbit’ and ‘Pal Action’ were painted in red on the bank’s entrance.

According to the NYPD, a brick was thrown through a window at approximately 7:40 a.m. The police are looking into the incident as a possible case of bias criminal mischief. The graffiti specifically targeted the Israeli defense firm Elbit and mentioned Palestine Action, a British organization deemed a terrorist group by both the British and American governments. New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin addressed the incident, calling it ‘deeply disturbing and unacceptable’ and has urged the police to investigate the potential that it could be an antisemitic hate crime.
