On Friday, the Orlando Magic made the decision to waive several players, including Kevin Knox II, a former forward with experience on multiple teams, including the Golden State Warriors. Knox is eligible for a $91,000 bonus if he remains with the Magic’s NBA G League affiliate for at least 60 days.
According to EuroHoops reporter Alex Molina, Spanish team Unicaja Malaga is showing interest in signing Knox, particularly after their starting power forward Tyson Perez suffered an injury. This situation might open the door for Knox to transition into European basketball, as Unicaja is exploring potential roster additions following Perez’s Achilles tendon surgery. Although Knox has not played outside the NBA, joining Unicaja would pair him with NBA veterans like Willy Hernangomez and Ignas Brazdeikis, the latter of whom he has history with from their time together on the New York Knicks.
Last playing for the Warriors in the 2024-25 season, Knox averaged 3.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in 14 games. He spent the following season with the Windy City Bulls in the G League, posting averages of 21.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists across 39 games.
