NEW YORK (WABC) — Federal officials are conducting searches at various businesses suspected of involvement in Medicaid fraud. On Tuesday, one of the locations under scrutiny was the Happy Adult Day Care Center located on Fort Hamilton Parkway in Borough Park, Brooklyn.

Authorities are reportedly executing search warrants at additional sites in Queens and Staten Island. New York Governor Kathy Hochul stated that the investigation centers on ‘suspected fraud in social adult day care programs.’ She mentioned that the aim is to target providers involved in illegal activities, which may include money laundering, kickbacks, improper billing, and other forms of fraudulent conduct.

The FBI, in a statement, confirmed that they are collaborating with multiple law enforcement agencies in executing this operation across various areas in New York City, including Queens, Staten Island, and Brooklyn as part of ongoing federal inquiries.
