“It’s Our Epicenter”—Eckhaus Latta Opens a New Store on New York’s Lower East Side

In just over 24 hours, Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta will open the doors to their new store located at 27 Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side. While there’s still work to be done, Latta acknowledges, “There are little scuffs on the floor. Don’t mention those.” Eckhaus humorously commented, “It’s all about sexy! It’s like the Barneys Warehouse Sale!” The design duo aims to create more than just a sleek storefront, emphasizing their love for retail.

Having previously opened stores in Los Angeles and Chinatown, this new location offers over double the selling space of their previous shop. With multiple functions including retail, a design studio, and personal archive, Latta describes it as their “epicenter.” The space features unique design elements and colors, echoing their creative ethos, while also allowing them to work closely with friends and professionals in the field throughout the renovation process. The store’s grand opening is scheduled for tomorrow.
