Former Yankees Player Now Manages Triple-A Team

The New York Yankees are currently in the offseason following a solid regular season. Unfortunately, they faced elimination after being swept by the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS. ESPN’s SportsCenter reported on October 7 that the Yankees have been eliminated from the postseason.

With the season concluded, attention turns to Shelley Duncan, a former Yankees player who is now managing the Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate, the SWB RailRiders. NYYPlayerDev announced on January 20, 2023, the appointment of Duncan as the manager, congratulating him on the achievement.

Duncan, selected in the 2nd round of the 2001 MLB Draft from Arizona, spent his first three years in the majors with the Yankees, making an impact as a rookie by hitting seven home runs in just his first 34 games.
