The Mamdani administration has completed its second round of releasing 9/11 health records, bringing the total number of available documents to 210,000 on the city's newly established 9/11 portal.

The Mamdani administration has completed its second round of releasing 9/11 health records, bringing the total number of available documents to 210,000 on the city’s newly established 9/11 portal. This release offers insights into conversations between city officials and their attorneys, which are usually protected under attorney-client privilege. This protection was waived by the administration earlier in the year.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani emphasized the commitment to transparency in his statement, stating, “We made an enduring promise of documents… it was the first of many steps we are taking to bring closure and clarity to millions of New Yorkers.” Since the portal’s launch on September 8, the growing database has exposed various efforts by the city to manage liability concerns and address health-related issues stemming from the World Trade Center dust after the 9/11 attacks.
