Republican Advertising Focus Shifts to Senate Races
Republicans hold a substantial financial advantage ahead of this year's midterm elections.

Republicans hold a substantial financial advantage ahead of this year’s midterm elections. However, as the election date approaches, it’s evident that their spending is primarily concentrated on Senate race advertisements, rather than those for the House. The New York Times has reported this development.
In the seven Senate contests identified by the Cook Political Report as tossups, Republican spending on ads surpasses that of Democrats by $947 million compared to $625 million. This disparity of over $320 million in critical races could greatly influence which party secures control of the Senate, according to AdImpact’s analysis of current and upcoming ad placements.
Conversely, the situation in the House presents a different picture. Republicans maintain a lead in advertising for the closest House races, but it is only a limited $14 million advantage across the 21 races categorized as tossups.
