Family Claims Woman Shot by NYPD Was the 911 Caller

New information has arisen about a police-involved shooting in Queens.

Relatives say woman shot by NYPD was the one who dialed 911

New information has arisen about a police-involved shooting in Queens. Relatives and two men who suffered stab wounds claim that the woman shot by officers was the individual who called 911. According to police, the woman was shot as she approached them with a knife inside a residence in Jamaica, resulting in three men being stabbed and the woman receiving hospitalization.

Edward Grant, one of the stab victims, expressed outrage over the shooting, stating, “What are you doing? Why did you shoot her? She was the one that called y’all!” Grant reveals that his girlfriend Nikki, the suspect’s sister, made the emergency call after a domestic violent episode. While trying to shield themselves in the attic, they escalated the situation when the attacker insisted on them coming downstairs, brandishing knives.

When police arrived just before 9:45 p.m., the family remained confined in the attic. A female voice from a window alerted officers by throwing keys to allow entry. After entering, police confronted the woman, who was holding a knife when she did not comply with commands. Officers shot her twice before administering a taser when she fell to the floor. The police later reported she is in stable condition, having also suffered a stab wound.
