During a campaign rally in Perry, Georgia, President Donald Trump revealed plans for Audi to establish a new automobile factory in the state. This announcement comes as he emphasizes his commitment to enhancing American manufacturing just days before the midterm elections. Trump noted that Audi, a luxury automobile brand owned by Volkswagen, is set to invest $4.2 billion in Macon, Georgia, to build a plant capable of producing 200,000 vehicles annually.
On stage with Trump was Audi’s board chairman, Gernot Döllner, who indicated that the facility will manufacture their largest and most premium SUVs. He highlighted the long-term belief in the American market, stating that the plant would create about 4,500 jobs, with construction expected to commence in 2027 and production in the early 2030s. Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson applauded the announcement, referring to it as the biggest economic deal in Georgia’s history.
