Yankees Eye Shea Langeliers as Potential Catcher Trade Target

The New York Yankees are contemplating a major trade for a catcher during the upcoming offseason, and Shea Langeliers of the Oakland Athletics stands out as a noteworthy candidate. With the Athletics undergoing a transition with a new general manager and president of baseball operations, Langeliers could face uncertainty regarding his future.

As the Athletics have yet to finalize their new leadership, it places Langeliers, along with other unsigned players, in a vulnerable position for trades. If the Yankees pursue Langeliers, they might offer pitcher Will Warren, along with two pitching prospects, LHP Kyle Carr and RHP Cade Smith. This could align with the Athletics’ need for pitching, as Warren is expected to be a solid starter in 2027 and the prospects could reach the majors soon.
